As composer of ‘Theme From Harry’s Game’, it became evident that Pól would continue working as a film composer. He was recording fifteen episodes of the German ‘Bassie en Adriaan’ series, while also writing new material for live performance. In 2000, he composed the music for ‘When the Sky Falls’, also known as ‘Veronica Guerin’ in the US, which is still fresh in the minds of those who watched it as one of the most insightful, historic and politically strong films of all time, next to the 2003 Veronica Guerin film starring Cate Blanchett. Just two years on and Pól was strongly in demand as a composers, and found himself orchestrating the 2002 Irish comedy ‘Pluckoon’, and in 2005 he composed the original score for ‘The Water Giant’.
In 2007, Pól’s most successful score since ‘Theme From Harry’s Game’ was released with the Gaelic film ‘Kings’ which won 6 Awards and received 9 nominations. The film was Ireland’s Official Submission to the Best Foreign Language Film Category of the 80th Annual Academy Awards in 2008.
Pól is also playing gigs with his partner, songstress Tara Ní Bhroin (pronounced Nee Vrin), in and around Dublin. He joined Clannad for a few concerts in 2006/7 and is now working on an album with his partner.
