‘Against the Wind’ Aisling Awards soundtrack

Aisling Awards

Aisling Awards

Just a bit of random information! The festival I work for, Féile an Phobail, got an Aisling Award for Culture & Arts a few nights ago. The music playing that night was live, but a few Moya Brennan songs make their way into the sound system! You can check out the video of the awards at the Aisling Awards website. Guest of honour at the awards was US Democrat Christine C. Quinn, Speaker of New York City Council, representing her council and Mayor Bloomberg.

Moya is pretty much loved in this city; one of the first times (if not thee first) Harry’s Game was performed live was here in the city, during really troublesome times in the north, and the song, as y’all know is about peace: there are no winners in violence, only pain. Anyway, we’d been nominated a few times, and this was our first win thanks to all of the people who read Northern Skyline who voted and put up with my iritating Tweets! Thanks, go raibh míle, míle maith agaibh a chairde! [= rob
