As previously posted, Moya Brennan will appear on ‘Irish Heartbeat’, a new radio programme by Dervish which has already started broadcasting in North America. But, as well as a visit from Moya to the studio, Cormac De Barra will also appear a few weeks later to talk about his projects and experiences touring with Moya, Clannad, Dervish, Hazel O’Connor and as one of Celtic Europe’s top harpists and harp tutors. It might also be of interest to know that Thom Moore will also be guesting on the series. Thom wrote Clannad’s ‘Strayed Away’ (from the ‘Fuaim’ album). Thom told me: “The producer for Fuaim called me, and Moya hummed the Irish traditional tune over the phone a few times and I wrote the song trying to keep the tune in my head.” You just can’t beat a memory shared!
