Éamonn
Éamonn Galldubh (member of the Moya Brennan band) tonight appeared on a new documentary-film about the troubles in the north of Ireland. Éamonn played all the music for the programme, created by the Aisling Ghéar Film Company in Belfast. The film featured interviews with Republicans, Nationalists, Unionists and Loyalists from the north/Northern Ireland who spoke of the troubles. Many atrocities have been carried out my groups from all sides of the political spectrum in Belfast and Derry. Now, although trouble is still at bay, Northern Ireland is changing. People can now choose their Nationality and are free to factually say whether they are from Ireland or Britain. Éamonn has done an amazing job. I was delighted to hear his piping tonight, and how it uplifted such a difficult subject. It makes me proud to be from the six counties to hear such positive words from all sides, including good Unionist and Republican friends of mine. Cheers to a new un-violent north and hopefully the immaturity can stop soon.
I though it best to mention that these views are none but my own, although I am sure many share them. Personal views on this post are not linked in any way to Clannad, Moya Brennan or their respective record companies, families and/or artists.
